Indian Paintbrush Glow

On my first serious venture into Texas wildflower photography, in spring of 2009, I stumbled upon a fifty acre field covered in bluebonnets. I befriended the rancher and she offered me free rein to roam her pasture every spring thereafter. I returned often, until she sold the farm and moved to Austin a few years ago. The photos I shot in her pasture, including this image of paintbrush flowers, have appeared in center spreads and on the cover of Texas Highways Magazine. I’m forever grateful to Sheila for her generosity of spirit. Spring 2014, Whitehall, Texas
